Join 2,400 Kaiser Behavioral Healthcare Workers | Open-ended strike, Monday, October 21

On October 21st, Kaiser Permanente mental health professionals will begin their previously authorized open-ended strike across Southern California. Social workers, psychiatric nurses, therapists, psychologists, and counselors are demanding adequate staffing.

In Southern California, Kaiser staffs 40% less workers compared to Northern California, despite having a higher volume of patients. Short-staffing comes at the expense of quality care, mental health professionals have next to no time to communicate with patients or create treatment plans prior to their appointments.

Workers are demanding that Kaiser fix their behavioral healthcare system and improve patient care, restore pensions to mental health professionals, and provide fair pay to their workers.
