Workers Memorial Day & International Workers Day
In the coming weeks we will be observing two special Labor days, Workers Memorial Day on April 28th and International Workers Day or May Day on May 1st.
We encourage y’all to learn more about Workers Memorial Day by checking out the AFL-CIO’s toolkit.
In observance of May Day we will be participating in a rally on Saturday, May 3rd at 10:00 AM in coalition with community based organizations. Please view more details here.
AB 288: California Right to Organize Act
Assemblymember Tina McKinnor, has introduced Assembly Bill 288, to protect workers’ right to organize and collectively bargain by empowering the state Public Employment Relations Board (PERB) to hear petitions from workers unable to receive a timely remedy from the federal National Labor Relations Board.

Stan Stosel Retires IBEW #47
During our last delegate meeting, brother Stan Stosel received a standing ovation as he announced his retirement from IBEW Local #47 after decades in the labor movement. We would like to wish him a farewell (from working) as he will continue to be a delegate at the IE Labor Council and attend regular meetings. Inland Empire Labor Institute hosts its first Business Agent Consortium
The Inland Empire Labor Institute held its first Business Agent Consortium featuring local and state partners who presented the latest in funding and workforce development. Guest speakers focused on best practices for handling grant funds, updates on state funding, and answered questions regarding Labor’s role in workforce development initiatives. Día de la Memoria de los Trabajadores y Día Internacional de los Trabajadores
En las próximas semanas celebraremos dos días especiales del trabajo: el 28 de Abril, Día de la Conmemoración de los Trabajadores, y el 1 de Mayo, Día Internacional de los Trabajadores o Primero de Mayo.
Los animamos a aprender más sobre el Día de la Conmemoración de los Trabajadores consultando el kit de herramientas de el AFL-CIO.
En conmemoración del Primero de Mayo participaremos en una manifestación el sábado 3 de Mayo a las 10:00 de la mañana en coalición con organizaciones comunitarias. Más información aquí.
AB 288: Ley del derecho de sindicación de California
La Asambleísta Tina McKinnor ha presentado el proyecto de ley 288 para proteger el derecho de los trabajadores a organizarse y negociar colectivamente. Dirigiendo a la Junta Estatal de Relaciones Laborales Públicas (PERB) que atienda las peticiones de los trabajadores que no hayan podido recibir una solución oportuna de la Junta Nacional de Relaciones Laborales federal.

Stan Stosel se retira de IBEW #47
Durante nuestra última reunión de delegados, el hermano Stan Stosel recibió una gran ovación al anunciar su jubilación del IBEW Local #47 tras décadas en el movimiento obrero. Nos gustaría desearle una despedida (del trabajo) ya que seguirá siendo delegado en el IE Labor Council y asistirá a las reuniones regulares. El Instituto Laboral de Inland Empire organiza su primer Consorcio de Representantes de Empresas
El Instituto Laboral de Inland Empire celebró su primer Consorcio de Agentes Empresariales con socios locales y estatales que presentaron lo último en financiación y desarrollo de la fuerza laboral. Los invitados se centraron las mejores prácticas para el manejo de los fondos, actualizaciones sobre la financiación estatal, y respondieron a preguntas sobre el rol del trabajo en las iniciativas de desarrollo de la fuerza laboral.
