On May 3rd, staff with the IELC participated in the IE People’s History conference. We tabled and also hosted a workshop. Our goal was to share out crucial information about worker’s rights, unions, and promoted the use of our Labor of Love project in educational settings.

We hope that participating in this conference is the first step towards more collaborations. Especially, those with educators who want to use local Labor History in the classroom. This will be especially relevant in the month of May, which is Labor History Month in California. Workforce Readiness Week also marks the beginning of May, and aims to prepare young people to know their rights before they enter the labor market.

Please visit our Labor of Love: Education page for access to our first piece of curriculum and more information. For more worker’s rights materials focused on young workers, please visit Young Workers | California Partnership for Young Worker Health and Safety.
