This Labor Day we as the Inland Empire Labor Council, AFL-CIO, rallied alongside unions and allied community members like Indivisible in Rancho Cucamonga. Union turnout was strong, with many affiliates showing out. Over 5 buses of excited SEIU 2015 members arrived to the rally in time for the program, MC’ed by Executive Secretary-Treasurer Ricardo Cisneros.
Throughout our history, the labor movement has had the vision to imagine a life for working people that didn’t exist yet—and the will to make it happen. When we fought for an eight-hour workday, they called it unrealistic. When we said we deserve health and safety measures because our jobs shouldn’t kill us, they said the bosses would never give in. But our collective power made it happen.
This Labor Day we showed a different form of collective power, by celebrating our movement’s achievements and strengthening our resolve for the fight ahead. We are one movement!
