In 2023, the Committee on Political Education (COPE) hosted its first-ever gala—a powerful night where Inland Empire unions came together to fundraise for critical electoral work. The event helped mobilize union members, amplify pro-labor voices, and ensure that working people had a seat at the table in key elections.
Building on that success, we are proud to host the COPE Gala once again. Mobilizing members during elections takes time, resources, and a commitment to see the Inland Empire’s working-class prosper. With your support, we will continue to strengthen the labor movement, elect champions who fight for workers, and make sure our voices are heard where it matters most.

Deadline: January 31, 2026 at midnight
The Unionist Of The Year Award honors an individual who has demonstrated exceptional dedication to the labor movement, advocating for workers’ rights, dignity, and fair conditions. This leader has made a lasting impact through organizing, policy change, and commitment to solidarity. Whether on the front lines of a strike, at the bargaining table, or shaping the future of labor, their work inspires and uplifts working people. Show your appreciation by nominating them as Unionist Of The Year! Nominations can be made by any members whose union or organization is affiliated with the Inland Empire Labor Council, AFL-CIO. All nominations will be reviewed by the COPE Gala Committee, and awardees will be announced leading up to February.

Contributions to the Committee On Political Education–COPE, are not tax-deductible as charitable donations for federal income tax purposes. COPE is a political action committee (PAC), and funds raised support political activities.
