Labor of Love

We are in the initial phase of preserving the history of labor resistance in the Inland Empire, starting with the Labor of Love project. Through video interviews with various contemporary movement leaders and archival documents that have been preserved since 1887, we hope to change the narrative of labor in the region.

We see the value in using these stories to pass down knowledge and build community and it is our duty to make them accessible for all.

We affectionately call this “Labor of Love”

To our sponsors:

Thanks to the Creative Corps Inland Socal and the California Arts Council. It would not have been possible without everyone’s crucial support.

This project was a collaboration of many people all talented in their respective mediums. Bianca Gomez was brought on as the branding designer, DeNoche Films and Future First coordinated the videography and set for the interviews, Zefferin Llamas, the interviewer, researched and tailored questions for our members, and Efren Castro assisted in archiving and writing. And of course, all of the labor leaders who lent their time and shared their stories with us. The broader Inland Empire Labor Council staff has supported the team every step of the way. Lastly, the IELC communications team, Frankie Aguilar and Eric Guerra have been instrumental in moving the project along.

This activity was funded in part by the California Arts Council, a state agency.
