Live From The Picket Line

Join us for Live From The Picket Line, a two-part media training webinar for Labor.

The goal of this training is to equip labor leaders with the tools to break through the news cycle. You’ll learn how to train workers to speak to the media ahead of your campaign and become an expert at pushing the narrative forward.

Part 1: How to Media Train Workers

Learn how to train workers to speak to the media ahead of your campaign. Create a planning kit to help them prepare for tough questions, nervousness, and telling their stories authentically. Watch the recording below and download the Spanish/English media planning kit guide below.

This training will be facilitated by Riverside Record Founder Alicia Ramirez, a news industry expert. She is a Los Angeles-based journalist with experience in both print and digital formats. Most recently, she was a faculty fellow at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism where she worked with student journalists covering the USC and greater South Los Angeles communities. Prior to that, she was a web producer for CBS Los Angeles, a designer for the Chicago Tribune and its suburban newspapers, and news editor for a trio of weekly newspapers in South Central Texas. She has a passion for telling stories that resonate with audiences and help them connect more deeply with their communities. Ramirez holds bachelor’s degrees in journalism and political science from Loyola University Chicago and a Master of Science in Journalism with a concentration in Media Solutions and Innovation from West Virginia University’s Reed College of Media. You can find her on Twitter and Instagram.
